In November, Bonpreu and Esclat clients made 185.804 donations that have made it possible to obtain 25.907€ for IDIBELL, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute, through the Solidarity Roundup, a tool developed by Worldcoo.

The money raised will be used to develop new therapies for diabetes that improve the prognosis of people affected by this disease. Dr. Meritxell Rovira’s team, who will lead this research, is a specialist in the biology of the pancreas and has been studying therapies for diabetes for more than 15 years. For 3 years, her research group has been developing an innovative methodology to generate insulin-producing cells in the laboratory from other pancreas cells, using cutting-edge technologies such as minipancreas culture.
