We are delighted to announce that IDIBELL, along with six other institutions, has been appointed as an Expert Centre by EATRIS, the European infrastructure for translational medicine. This seal will allow us to offer high value-added services that were previously provided by EATRIS Coordination and Support. Due to increasing demand and EATRIS’ goal to support national competence building, these services will now be partially decentralized and carried out by EATRIS institutions acting as Expert Centres.

These services cover a range of areas, such as innovation management, regulatory strategy and execution, and health technology assessment. They complement the existing laboratory research services in EATRIS institutions, such as the ones offered by the Business Development and Innovation Area at IDIBELL. In particular, we have been recognized in the three existing categories: Regulatory Support, Innovation Management and Translational Feasibility Support.

All 7 institutions have been selected based on our track records and expertise supporting innovation of translational research projects. The current ‘EATRIS Expert Centres’ are:

  1. Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Italy.
  2. Association for Innovation and Biomedical Research on Light and Image (AIBILI), Portugal.
  3. Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), Portugal.
  4. Istituto Mario Negri, Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, IRCCS, Italy.
  5. The Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), Spain.
  6. Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), Spain.
  7. Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes (IMM), Portugal.
