La Caixa Foundation concedes 35 fellowships for early-stage researchers of any nationality to pursue their PhD studies in the best Spanish and Portuguese research centres and units with excellence distinction: Spanish Seal of Excellence Severo Ochoa, María de Maeztu or Health Institute Carlos III and Portuguese units accredited as “excellent” by the Fundação de Ciência e Tecnologia. This program is only addressed to PhD research projects on STEM disciplines: life sciences and health, experimental sciences, physics, chemistry and mathematics. In order to do the research in Spain, candidates must have resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for less than 12 months in the last 3 years. More information can be found here.
Aspirants must present their candidacy before January 27th, 2022, and the projects are meant to start on Fall Term 2022.
