Occupational risk management at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) has been awarded with an honorable mention by MC MUTUAL, a social security-linked mutual insurance company, within the XVII Edition of the MC MUTUAL “Antonio Baró” Awards for Occupational Risk Prevention, given to the companies, people and institutions that excel when it comes to effectively protect the safety and health of people in the workplace.
The jury, consisting of the Control and Monitoring Committee of MC MUTUAL, has recognized the quality of the occupational risk management carried out by the department of workplace risk prevention at IDIBELL, which under the motto “Safe research is good research” leads initiatives such as Milo, a 3D character specially designed to inform personnel about good practices in risk prevention. The honorable mention was received by Dr. Gabriel Capellá, director of the Institute, and Milagro González Garrigues as head of the workplace risk prevention unit.
The “Antonio Baró” Awards for Occupational Risk Prevention were created in 2001, in memory of the president of Mutual Cyclops for 14 years. Throughout its seventeen editions, MC MUTUAL has given 81 awards, 4 honorable mentions, 23 special awards and has distinguished the preventive management of about 600 organizations.
