On April 9 the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) of Tarragona held the second edition of the Solidarity Dinner to raise funds for the fight against cancer in the Hotel Gran Palas del Pinar.
The director of IDIBELL, Jaume Reventós, who coordinates one of the Coordinated Stable Groups funded by the AECC when he led his research at Vall Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) spoke about the project “Molecular alterations associated with tumor progression in cancer endometrial” and the importance of explaining to society the results of the research and its impact on health, so this fight against the disease involves us all.
The project coordinated by Reventós was awarded in 2011 with funding of one million two hundred thousand euros for five years. The goal is to find the molecular alterations associated with drug resistance in endometrial cancer in order to design new treatments for disease control in women in whom surgery is not effective.
