Mutua Madrileña Foundation funds a research project on personalized treatments in lung cancer

Award Ceremony of the XI Call for Research Grants of the Mutua Madrileña Foundation attended by Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, Carmen Vela was held last October 10. The team leader of the ICO-IDIBELL chemoresistance research group, Alberto Villanueva, has received 41,000 euros to finance a project aimed at personalizing lung cancer.

The project is based on the personalization of cancer treatments for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by the generation of mouse models of orthotropic individualized or orthoxenografts. This is a multidisciplinary project with the collaboration of basic and clinical researchers, ICO IDIBELL and the University Hospital of Bellvitge.

In the XI edition of his research grants, the Mutua Madrileña Foundation has approved funding for 54 research projects with more than one million seven hundred thousand euros.
