The agency Thomson Reuters has published the Highly Cited Researchers, a list of the most recognized in the world based on the number of citations received their education researchers.

Among the 3,000 researchers from the 47 most influential disciplines are Spanish. The section on clinical medicine, meanwhile, includes 402 researchers worldwide, of which 7 are Spanish. One of them is Xavier Bosch, head of the Research Program in Cancer Epidemiology ICO and who leads the infections and cancer research group at IDIBELL.

Also part of the list Josep Baselga, Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York (USA); Joan Blade, Hospital Clínic, University of Barcelona; Jordi Bruix and Elías Campo, University of Barcelona; Valentin Fuster, National Center for Cardiovascular Research Carlos III (CNIC) in Madrid and the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and Josep Maria Llovet, Barcelona University and the Mount Sinai Medical Center.
