The researcher Manel Esteller, director of the Epigenetics and Cancer Biology IDIBELL, Professor of Genetics at the University of Barcelona and ICREA Research Professor was elected Corresponding Academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Valencia (RAMCV).

The appointment wants to recognize the scientific career of Manel Esteller in the field of epigenetics and its contribution to the understanding of the molecular basis of several diseases, including cancer.

The Royal Academy of Medicine of the Valencia Community was founded in 1830 and has as its primary mission the study and research of the medical and related sciences. It also collaborates with the health, academic and judicial authorities.
