Manel Esteller, Boehringer Ingelheim Award finalist in Medical Journalism

The selection board of Boehringer Ingelheim Award in Medical Journalism has announced ten finalists. On Thursday November 22th the jury will announce the two winners, one per category, audiovisual and print media.

Among the 325 papers presented, the selection board has chosen as a finalist in the category of print article “Del descubrimiento al sufrimiento” published in “El Periódico de Catalunya” by Dr. Manel Esteller, Director of Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Program at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and Professor of Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona and ICREA Research Professor. Boehringer Ingelheim Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the health sector and its mission is to help the outreach in media and among journalists. Since 1985, Boehringer has been promoting the concept “Journalism in Medicine” and awarding the best works that provide a new focus on prevention, treatment, innovation and general aspects of quality of life in the field of human health.
