The First International Conference of Biology of Catalonia joins more than eight hundred scientists from around the world The First International Conference on Biology of Catalonia, entitled “Global advanced questions on Biology,” will be opened with the conference “Epigenètica: de la biologia a la malaltia” by Manel Esteller, researcher at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL).
The goal of the First International Conference on Biology of Catalonia (ICIBICAT) is to analyze the world of biology from a multidisciplinary view and to encourage the dialogue between biologists from different disciplines and between young and recognized scientists. The ICIBICAT, which will be held in Barcelona from 9th to 12th July, will join more than eight hundred experts from around the world.
The opening of the Congress, which has been organized by the Catalan Society of Biology, from the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC), which this year celebrates its centenary, will take place on Monday, July 9th at noon, in the auditorium of the Music Conservatory at Liceu. Castellà Antoni, Secretary of Universities and Research of the Government of Catalonia; Salvador Giner, President of the IEC; Lluís Tort, President of the Catalan Society of Biology; and Maria Serrat, General Director of the Conservatory will be the speakers.
