The aim of Sahai is get all the knowledge about the intrinsic and extrinsic factors which play an important role in the metastasis process to find effective new therapeutic targets to combat it. “We could test hundreds of drugs capable of blocking metastasis but without this prior knowledge it would take many, many years to find an effective treatment” Sahai explained.

DR. Erik Sahai obtained a PhD at University College of London. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of cancer research at London and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at New York. Now he is head of tumor cell biology at London research Institute.His research focuses on understand how altered regulation of the cytoskeleton promotes tumour invasion and metastasis.
