Metabolic basis of tumor-induced T-cell dysfunction in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

The talk will address the metabolic reprogramming of malignant B cells in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and the acquired metabolic alterations in the surrounding T cells of these patients.

Dr Simon Molas did her PhD in the lab of Dr Ramon Bartrons and Dr Anna Manzano
(UB) and moved to Amsterdam UMC for her postdoc. Among her most recent
contributions, she’s described how glutamine addiction can be leveraged to target
leukemic cells, and how T-cell dysfunction in the context of leukemia correlates with
mitochondrial alterations.
