Epidemiology of bacterial infections. Research on pathogenesis and molecular basis of antimicrobial resistance
Summary
This group’s research covers various lines of clinical and microbiological research, and includes multiple-antibiotic-resistant bacterial infectious, which are a large cause of morbidity and mortality. The study of risk factors and clinical characteristics in hospital-acquired infections, as well as the knowledge of genotypes, virulence factors and mechanisms of antibiotic resistance of bacterial pathogens, are essential for controlling epidemic outbreaks due to multi-resistant bacteria.
